How often should one have their chimney swept?

The National Fire Association recommends everyone for an annual inspection and a cleaning if required.

Why do I have an unpleasant smell coming from my chimney or fireplace?

The unpleasant smell from the chimney or fireplace is caused by creosote buildup. Please call us right away to let us help correct the problem.

What is creosote?

Creosote is condensed particles from wood or coal-burning that solidify when cooled and get buildup in chimneys.

My fireplace emits smoke more than it should. Should I be concerned?
